From CNN Political Producer Peter Hamby

Gov. Palin said Saturday that Sen. Obama has a big government agenda.

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (CNN) — Campaigning Saturday in Iowa, a state where polls show Barack Obama enjoying a healthy lead just 10 days before the election, Sarah Palin warned that putting Obama in the White House along with Democrats running both chambers of Congress will turn the country into a nanny state.

It’s amazing to see a few people carry on the liberal medias agenda against Palin.
Few very few.

People are starting to realize that they were mislead about her and all lies were proved just that.

She was used by the Left to make Obama look GOOD and now that he is on his own, his ratings are tanking.
______________-

J C : Gee I remember when Pelosi said Bush was a lame duck, useless and couldn’t do a thing….

And I seem to remember Hillary and others quitting their JOBS to take a higher position.

YET you seem to think Palin is the only one.

Didn’t Obama quit the Senate after 324 days….. He did. And he never ran a State, City, Town….. zero, zip…. He was a commuity organizer with zero accomplishments…..

Question by UTLatinoGuy: Why did Rick Perry sign a law that gives in state tuition to non residents? Is this cool or what?

http://news.bostonherald.com/news/us_politics/view/20110728in-state_tuition_for_illegal_immigrants_could_prove_a_tough_issue_for_perry/srvc=home&position=recent

AUSTIN, Texas — With Rick Perry’s record getting presidential-level scrutiny, one crack in his conservative credentials could pose a serious problem — signing a bill giving in-state tuition to illegal immigrants.

Perry defended his 2001 decision to a New Hampshire reporter last week, saying he didn’t want to punish young people for their parent’s actions. But for tea party activists and social conservatives crucial to any Perry bid for the White House, his support of Texas “DREAM Act” for undocumented students could be a tough sell.

“From my experience dealing with Iowans in all 99 counties, the immigration issue is a very sensitive issue,” said Iowa tea party activist Gregg Cummings of Lamoni, Iowa. “He’s going to have a tough time trying to answer.”

While other decisions in Perry’s past might raise questions on the right, his backing of in-state tuition for the children of illegal immigrants at Texas universities sends a clear and unambiguous message to tea party voters on an issue they care passionately about.

“The DREAM Act could be Perry’s version of Romneycare,” said Dallas tea party member Ken Emanuelson, referring to Mitt Romney’s state health care plan he pushed through as governor in Massachusetts.

Perry will announce in about three weeks that he’s running for president, according to a close associate. He’ll pitch himself as a staunch conservative who can attract both religious and fiscal conservatives.

Emanuelson predicts Perry will have to explain his immigration record to tea party activists in the early GOP nominating states of Iowa and New Hampshire.

“Perry’s speeches would lead you to believe that he’s a border hawk and he’s really fired up about this issue, that the border’s under control and we’ve countered illegal immigration. But he wants to have it both ways,” Emanuelson said.

“On the one hand, he’s trying to make the case that we’re Texas, we’re strong and independent. And on the other, he’s saying we can’t take care of ourselves because the federal government isn’t taking care of us.”

Questions about Perry’s immigration record underscore a potential rift between the Texas governor and tea party voters he would count on to win the GOP nomination.

On his website, Perry trumpets his record on border security. He says the state has spent millions of dollars on local law enforcement to stem narcotics smuggling and dispatched Texas Rangers to help in criminal cases involving people illegally coming across the border.

But the New Hampshire Tea Party Coalition has posted a blistering online critique challenging Perry’s record on spending, support for toll roads and his mandate that pre-teen girls be inoculated against sexually transmitted disease.

Leading its critique was the tuition bill.

Last week, when a reporter for the New Hampshire Union Leader asked about the in-state tuition bill, Perry said it would have been wrong “to punish these young Texans for their parents’ actions.”

Under the law, children of undocumented immigrants qualify for in-state tuition after living in the state for several years and agreeing to work toward citizenship. Several states including California, New York and New Mexico offer tuition breaks, but Texas was the first to do so under Perry.

Texas Democratic consultant Jason Stanford said Perry’s immigration record, especially tuition breaks for the children of illegal immigrants, could damage him among some conservatives.

Question by bob mcdonell: Do conservatives who want greater state government realize the deal they’re getting?
The new tea party movement as well as conservative republicans propose to give all powers except for defense and foreign relations to state governments.

The following states receive $ 1+ tax dollar from Washington for every $ 1 paid in taxes.
-Georgia
-Indiana
-Ohio
-Pennsylvania
-Utah (big tea party state)
-North Carolina
-Vermont
-Iowa
-Nebraska
-Wyoming (they’d be nothing with out the fed)
-Kansas
-Arizona
-Idaho
-Tennessee
-Maryland
-Missouri
-South Carolina
-Oklahoma
-Maine
-Hawaii
-Montana
-Kentucky
-Virginia
-South Dakota
-Alabama
-North Dakota
-West Virginia
-Louisianna
-Alaska
and Mississippi and New Mexico more than double their tax dollars…

imagine what this country would look like without a strong fed…
Wyoming wouldn’t have the resources to finish their slice of the interstate…
Jersey schools would be paved in gold while New Mexico schools can barely pay their teachers…

it sounds appealing… until you think about it
i agree that increasing state rights is a legitimate proposal, however the debate between the state and the fed as been ongoing ever since when the constitution was ratified on June 21, 1788. Republican-Democrats championed state rights while Federalists fought for a powerful central government.

Furthermore, it is worth noting we started off this country with a governing document called the articles of confederation. It gave the states too much power and as a result hindered the federal government ineffective. The articles led directly to the drafting on today’s constitution.

Best answer:

Answer by American
we are the united STATES of america

not the united FEDERAL government of america
the only thing we should be united on is the fed military

“Primary Politics” by Charles Brereton, and published by Peter E. Randall Publisher, serves as a guidebook to an antiquated but still functioning electoral event where, believe it or not, candidates still sit down and talk with real voters.

Although the counting of the votes in every New Hampshire presidential primary is a simple matter, for the visiting press it is often a far different story, for time and again the media are frequently at a loss to explain not only what has happened in the nationÂ?s first direct vote every quadrennium, but why.

”Primary Politics” is a publication that provides an understanding of the premier primary that is second to none. In three decades of covering and observing this primary, the author has succeeded in providing in this 200-page book a way of blending the past with the present that will prove invaluable to everyone covering the forthcoming primary.

“The Book” on The New Hampshire Primary, which provides clear, concise answers to these questions.

Just what has been the most significant New Hampshire presidential primary to the nation? The authorÂ?s opinion may surprise you.

Why does the much-ballyhooed Iowa bounce end up being nothing more than a hiccup?

Is each and every contender from the Midwest doomed to fail in this northern New England state?

Although the Granite State may have a Frostbelt climate, its voting pattern is that of a Sunbelt State. Find out why this difference helps determine who wins here and who does not.

Just what campaign model has the best chance of succeeding in the first primary state and what ends up being a hair-pulling nightmare for all involved?

Why can reform of the New Hampshirization of the nomination process be found in Iowa and not in the Granite State?

A. Oregon.
B. Texas.
C. California.
D. Iowa.

Best answer:

Answer by m137pay
I have no idea about Texas, California, or Iowa but Oregon allows county home rule. In fact my county, Deschutes, is voting on a home rule charter in November. It would change the County Commission from 3 full-time administrators to 5 part-time policy-makers that represent specific parts of the county, it would remove party affiliation from the ballot, it would require a paid county manager to act as administrator and it alters other fundamental areas of accountability and clearly delineates the County Commision’s responsibilities.

Question by STEPH W (Let’s do this thing: Where are people getting the idea that Illinois is the Most corrupt state in Politics?
In the U.S., the top five most corrupt states are Louisiana, Mississippi, Kentucky, Alabama, and Ohio, (based on U.S. Department of Justice data on public convictions 2007).

Illinois may be 6 or 7. But it is certainly not THE MOST corrupt.

1. Louisiana(7.67)
2. Mississippi (6.66)
3. Kentucky (5.18)
4. Alabama (4.76)
5. Ohio(4.69)
6. Illinois (4.68)
7. Pennsylvania (4.55)
8. Florida (4.47)
9. New Jersey (4.32)
10. New York (3.95)
11. Tennessee (3.68)
12. Virginia (3.64)
13. Oklahoma (2.96)
14. Connecticut (2.80)
15. Missouri (2.79)
16. Arkansas (2.74)
17. Massachusetts (2.66)
18. Texas (2.44)
19. Maryland (2.31)
20. Michigan (2.14)
21. Georgia (2.13)
22. Wisconsin (2.09)
23. California (2.07)
24. North Carolina (1.96)
25. Arizona (1.88)
26. Indiana (1.85)
27. South Carolina (1.74)
28. Nevada (1.72)
29. Colorado (1.56)
30. Washington (1.52)
31. Utah (1.4117)
32. Kansas (1.4109)
33. Minnesota (1.24)
34. Iowa (0.91)
35. Oregon (0.68).

Edit: I meant Illinois mat be 6 or 7 now..
Becca, my eyes are wide open. Corruption is everywhere, worst in other states actually. I don’t think we should be singling out 1 state.
And might I add that there was enough corruption in the white house to put Chicago to shame. My opinion.
I question the timing as well..
Rivera: Lol I guess the 15 you don’t see are the least corrupt…

Best answer:

Answer by jcm1954
They are getting the idea from the FBI agent who spoke at a press conference yesterday. He said if Illinois is not the most corrupt, it is certainly up there. Which agrees with your statistics.

What do you think? Answer below!
