Do you find this suprising? Or would you expect this?

Qυеѕtіοn bу Sgt ?d???d: Dο уου find thіѕ suprising? Or wουld уου expect thіѕ?
I јυѕt grabbed thіѕ frοm Facebook’s application, U.S. Politics:
thе 1st percentage іѕ Facebook Supporters, whіlе thе 2nd іѕ thе ABC News Poll.

Democrats:
Barack Obama57.32%23%
Hillary Clinton18.22%53%
John Edwards9.07%10%
Dennis Kucinich6.57%2%
Joe Biden3.06%3%
Bill Richardson2.53%3%
Mike Gravel2.41%NA
Chris Dodd0.81%NA

Republicans:
Ron Paul38.22%3%
Mike Huckabee15.35%19%
Mitt Romney14.72%17%
Fred Thompson11.09%14%
John McCain10.45%12%
Rudy Giuliani9.24%25%
Duncan Hunter0.92%2%

Compare Facebook’s results tο tonight’s Iowa Caucus results. Wіth thе exception οf Ron Paul, following owing tο, thе facebook results better fit thе results οf thе caucus thаn ABC’s news poll.
Mr. Morden: Thе facebook results аrе аlѕο national, thеу аrе nοt localized fοr Iowa.

  • Dodgerblue:

tou can’t trusth internet polls. Some are to young to vote in a real election.

  • Nightstalker1967:

I don’t find this startling since Obama has much more support in the younger crowd and that is the margin by far on facebook, I wish his numbers were even higher there. He just beat her in Iowa and hopefully will win the demo nomination.

  • FRAGINAL-NOYPI:

Polls now and again dictate the tempo but no always accurate. Obama won and some of the polls showed that it was Hillary Clinton.

  • Ron M:

Not startling at all. Clintons (not even Bill) do not do well in Iowa. Last Dem to win Iowa and then the Colorless House was Jimmy Carter. This small drama won’t play out for a while yet.

  • malclave:

According to CNN (as of the time I write this answer):
    Obama 37%
    Edwards 30%
    Clinton 30%
    Richardson 2%
    Biden 1%

    Huckabee 34%
    Romney 25%
    Thompson 14%
    McCain 13%
    Paul 10%
    Giuliani 4%

Neither the Facebook numbers nor the ABC poll appear very close to these numbers.

I’m not shocked in this area it but who knows the real totals that aren’t on the internet could be really different. This is going to be a heated race this year. I don’t know who I’m voting for and this is my first year voting ahhhh. haha

  • Mr. Morden:

Which ABC poll are you talking in this area, what date? The facts you quoted for ABC look like facts for a national poll taken a month ago. You can’t compare the results of one state to the entire country.

  • Lantern Bearer:

I have to agree with the age observations. In this case it may be a rising tide of energy. I am 63 and Obama struck a cord with me in ’04 with his speech at the Democratic Convention. This Iowa win in no way clinches the nomination. There is a long run to go. He may back off on his pace and let Hillary regain some lead and he take a drafting position. Pace and position are everything leading up to the convention.

I must observe that the Democratic field is more naturally simpatico than the Republican field. This is not going to be a Republican year unless someone catches the Democratic candidates eating a live baby at a Plumbers and Pipefitters Picnic.

The only real strength I see coming up out of the pack is Bill Richardson. I grew up around horse racing and politics in Kentucky. Bill is sitting in a excellent spot for the long run. Obama is not a clincher at this point and Hillary is going to draft along.

    Things are just now fascinating.

  • Viktor-Ron Paul 2008!!:

I like Ron Paul 38.22% 3%, it shows how much the media likes to hide Ron Paul to save themselves and their greedy pockets.

  • That Gay Guy for Da Ben Dan:

Obama is speculated to be the winner of the Dems and Huckabee is supposed to be the winner of the GOP (shoot me now, please!). Dodd and Biden just dropped out.

  • Gecko:

:) Go Ron Paul. That is very fascinating all around.

  • The ?Gayish Angel? VT:

i didn’t realize that mike gravel was subdue running

he and kucinich are the only……….oh forget it neither has the ‘proverbial chance’
